Increasing Users of E-Customs

The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has recently cooperated with the General Department of Customs (GDC) to organise a seminar on “Electronic customs procedures and IT application in corporate environment” in Hanoi, the Vietnamese capital city. This is part of a project “supporting enterprises to apply IT to serve integration and development in the 2006-2010 period” carried out by the VCCI under the assignment of the Government.

 

The seminar is aimed to provide more information about the e-customs procedures and introduce benefits of this process to the business community.

 

At the event, the General Department of Customs introduced its pilot “specially preferred enterprises” programme. Attending enterprises could discuss with authorities about queries concerning e-customs.

 

The similar events were held in Lang Son and Quang Ninh provinces. In December, the VCCI will carry out such seminars in Dong Nai, Da Nang and Hai Phong.
