Ford Vietnam Reports Sale of 6,250 Units in 2008

Ford Vietnam announces it has manufactured and sold 6,250 automobiles of different models in 2008, up 105 per cent from a year ago, bringing the total number of cars produced and sold in Vietnam by Ford Vietnam to nearly 40,000 units.
 
Despite difficulties by the global downturn faced by Ford Motor Group, Ford Vietnam is still doing well in the local market, said Mr Michael Pease, General Director of Ford Vietnam.
 
In 2008, Ford Vietnam has invested USUS$10 million to increase the capacity of its factory in Hai Duong to 9,500 units a year. Thus, the company's total direct investment capital in Vietnam has hit US$110 million, becoming the automobile manufacturer with the biggest foreign direct investment in Vietnam.
 
In 2009, Ford Vietnam targets to produce high quality products which are fuel economical at competitive prices to Vietnamese customers. (Vietnam Economic Times)
