Vietnam Northern Industrial Park Pulled in US$300M
The Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) based in northern Bac Ninh province has to date attracted 18 domestic and foreign-invested projects totaling US$300 million, state media said.
Many of these projects are in electricity, electronics, telecom, and engineering industries and expect to attract more satellite projects.
Among them, the US$115-million warehouse project by Mapletree attracts investments from DHL, Excel, UPS, Sagawa Express, and MOL Logistics.
The VSIP Bac Ninh comprises 500 ha for industries and 200 ha for urban areas and services.
The Bac Ninh province has set a goal to lure US$550 million in foreign direct investment this year, said the provincial Department and Planning and Investment’s Deputy Director Ngo Sy Bich.
He added that the locality is now home to big foreign investors like Cannon, Samsung, Sentec, Nippon Steel and Foxconn.
Bich said Japan is expected to maintain the top investor in the province by 2015. (VoV, Investment)
