Netherlands Ranks Top among EU Investors in Vietnam

Dutch companies have to date invested in 86 projects totaling US$2.6 billion in Vietnam, ranking the first among European Union investors in the country.
 
The Dutch investment in Vietnam mostly focuses on the areas of high-tech manufacturing sector, infrastructure, agriculture, climate change prevention, healthcare and environmental protection.
 
The Netherlands is also among Vietnam’s biggest ODA donors. Between 2000 and 2005, it funded EUR27 million for the Southeast Asian country annually. It pledged to provide Vietnam with EUR36 million each year in the 2006-2010 period.
 
The trade between the Netherlands and Vietnam jumped 23.32% on-year to US$2.09 billion last year. (Vietnam Economic Times)
