Hanoi to Invite Foreign Contractors for US$1.1B Metro Project

Hanoi Urban Metro Project Management Unit has recently approved a shortlist to invite two foreign contractors for general consultancy of the city’s metro project at a cost of VND19.5 trillion (US$1.1 billion) in Hanoi.

 

The two foreign contractors are PB Japan Co.-Japan Railwail Technical Service- Japan Transportation Consultants Inc, and Oriental Consultants Co.-Katahira Engineers International-Tonichi Engineering Consultants, Inc-PADECO Co.-ALMEC Corp-Transport Engineering Design, Inc-Transport Investment and Construction Consultants JSC.

 

The contractor shortlist is the basis to for the city to hold bids in line with current regulations.

 

The selection of general consultants is expected to finish next March and construction on the route is expected to complete in 2020.

 

The project, which uses the Japanese ODA for consultancy services, runs from Nam Thang Long road to Tran Hung Dao street. (Culture)
