Vietnamese Firms Invest $2.1B Abroad So Far This Year: MPI
Vietnamese companies have invested roughly $2.1 billion abroad so far this year, Vietnam News Agency said September 21, citing an official from the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI).
The figure has raised Vietnam’s total oversea investment to $6.8 billion in 440 projects in 49 countries and territories, including $1.5 billion disbursed, said Head of the MPI’s Foreign Investment Agency Phan Huu Thang.
Local businesses have boosted their investment in new markets like Latin America, East Europe and Africa, besides traditional ones of Laos, Cambodia and Russia, Thang added.
He also noted that the Vietnamese prime minister has approved an overseas investment promotion project which is considered an important legal foundation to boost the country’s oversea investment. (VNA)
