Vietnam Reports Pledged FDI of US$130B to Date

Vietnam has to date attracted more than 9,300 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects totaling US$130 billion from 77 countries and territories, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
 
Of the sum, foreign investors have so far disbursed nearly US$50 billion in the country, the ministry said.
 
In 2008, the Southeast Asian set a new record of pledged FDI with US$64 billion, the ministry said.
 
In the first eight months of this year, Vietnam attracted a total pledged FDI of US$10.453 billion, down 81.6% on-year, Head of the Foreign Investment Agency Phan Huu Thang said. (Industry & Trade)
