Vietnam and South Korea have agreed to improve bilateral trade balance and boost their trade to US$20 billion in 2015, doubling the figure of last year.

The commitment was agreed by President Nguyen Minh Triet and his South Korean counterpart Lee Myung-bak during a meeting in Hanoi October 21.

In the first nine months of this year, South Korea was Vietnam’s seventh largest importer and third biggest exporter with respective figures of US$1.53 billion and US$4.76 billion.

The two-way trade is estimated between US$8.9 billion and US$9.3 billion this year, down between 9.5% and 5.4% on-year. Of which, Vietnam’s exports value will be between US$2.03 billion and US$2.25 billion. (CPV, VNS)
