Vietnam Central Economic Zone Pulls in US$10.3B Projects So Far
Vietnam’s central province of Quang Ngai-based Dung Quat Economic Zone (EZ) to date licensed 140 projects totaling US$10.3 billion, including 12 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects valued at US$3.42 billion.
The EZ’s authorities have spent VND5 trillion in its infrastructure development to attract more foreign and domestic investors.
Currently, the EZ has 51 operational projects including six new projects of Dung Quat oil refinery plant, Doosan heavy industry plant, Bach Hac electrode plant, Hoang Gia tourism resort, Binh Son service area and Flowser service area.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved a master plan for the development of the fast-growing Dung Quat EZ until 2020, aiming to turn it into the central region’s urban-industrial-service center. (Investment)
