Vietnam Trade Deficit with ASEAN Plunges 47.76% to US$4.9B in 2009
Vietnam’s trade deficit with ASEAN tumbled 47.76% to US$4.9 billion last year, the General Statistics Office said on January 8.
The country imported US$13.4 billion worth of goods from the bloc and exported US$8.5 billion, dropping 31.3% and 16.4% on-year, respectively, the GSO said in a statement.
Vietnam and ASEAN trade was US$29.764 billion in 2008, including Vietnam’s trade deficit of US$9.38 billion. (GSO)
