Vietnam exported 130,700 metric tons of petroleum products worth US$85 million in January, up 33.3% from a year earlier in value but down 8% in volume, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said on its website Monday.

The sharp increase in exports of petroleum products is attributed to the fact that the nation’s first oil refinery Dung Quat had produced a total of 1.5 million tons of products and supplied 1.4 million tons of products to the domestic since its first operation last Feb. 22.

Cambodia was biggest petroleum importer in January with 63,960 tons valued at US$42.4 million, up 13.4% from a year earlier in value but down 26.4% in volume. (www.vinanet.com.vn Mar 8) Mar 8)
