Vietnam to Boost Veggie, Fruit Export by 10% to US$482M This Year
Vietnam targets to raise its export revenues of vegetables and fruits by 10% to US$482 million this year, the Vietnam Fruit Association (Vinafruit) said.
The association said at a meeting in HCM City Mar 31 that the country’s vegetable and fruit exports grew 20% a year since 2004 and hit US$439 million last year.
In the first quarter of this year, the country exported US$62 million worth of fruits and vegetables, up 11.9% on year, the General Statistics Office said.
Vietnam will hold its first fruit festival in the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang from May 19 to 24 with 750 stalls to show fruit specialties. (Youth)
