Vietnam Needs US$139B for Infrastructure Projects in 2011-2015: Ministry
Vietnam is estimated to need US$139 billion for infrastructure projects in 2011-2015 period, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI).
The ministry is working out a plan that will promote the public-private partnership (PPP) model for infrastructure projects, particularly aviation and road transport.
The MPI is also seeking to boost foreign investments in the local seaport projects such as Hiep Phuoc-Thi Vai port and Lach Huyen international gateway seaport.
Last year, Vietnam invested a total of VND708.8 trillion in development projects, up 15% on-year, including VND228.24 trillion for major infrastructure projects, up 98% from a year earlier
Vietnam plans to raise VND56 trillion from bond issuances for its major infrastructure projects this year. (Nation)
