Quang Ninh is not only known as a major province of coalmining industry but is also emerging as a new home for world-class tourism projects. The Bay View Towers, owned by Minh Viet Investment Corporation, appears to be a highlight. Vietnam Business Forum has an interview with Mr Edward Chi, General Director of Minh Viet Investment Corporation.
Would you mind revealing the first intention of The Bay View Towers project?
I visited Ha Long Bay many times to relax and rest but I had never lost my interest. On the contrary, I discovered many new interesting things each time I came here. I visited and viewed many beautiful landscapes on the globe and I found Ha Long Bay was a really ideal place for a comfortable life on the earth. This place is the harmonious combination of tenderly beautiful, romantic sea, mighty mountains and mysterious caverns existing for millions of years.
I thought I needed to do something to view and feel Ha Long Bay more easily and frequently. And, to a further extent, what will they feel when they contemplate the bay? These questions inspired me and the idea of The Bay View Towers came to my mind. Therefore, from The Bay View Towers, you will not only see the scene of Trong (male) Mai (female) stones but also windy sails, rolling mountains and running waves.
The special highlight of The Bay View Towers is the “Bay View” system - all of tower apartments are designed to overlook Ha Long Bay in both daytime and night-time. The Bay View Towers may be referred to a "bridge" of the human and the beautiful natural landscape.
What are the differences of The Bay View Towers from other property projects in Quang Ninh province?
I can encapsulate The Bay View Towers in only two words: comfort and green. We have all services and facilities for modern living. The luxurious and comfortable 30-storey work includes three storeys for commercial centres, four storeys for technical purposes and 23 storeys for accommodation, divided into 518 apartments. On the eighth floor, we built a 1,300 square metre swimming pool with boundless view to Ha Long Bay. On 24 and 25 storeys, we arrange all leisure and health care services for people. Lying in the middle of Ha Long Bay landscape, the recreational and sporting zones are located in the four-crossing storeys between the two towers, aiming to generate fresh spirit to the residents. In addition, we also design a marine zone and ship port for residents to explore the ecological system in Ha Long Bay.
We also feel very proud because The Bay View Towers is our first project in Vietnam and it meets BCA Green Mark standard, certified by Singapore's Building and Construction Authority (BCA). To be certified the Green Mark, consultants advise and evaluate the project from the initial step to final ones like examining and putting into use. The most impressive characteristic of The Bay View Towers to win the score from BCA is its friendliness, energy efficiency, cleanness and harmony with the surroundings. The towers are built in the east-to-west direction to minimise harmful effects of sunlight. Moreover, egg basket-shaped façades also help curtail solar radiations. As a result, the amount of heat directly hitting the wall surface is very small while the towers take the full advantage of natural light. The expanded roof also helps provides enough sunlight and comfort for the buildings.
For your career and personal experience, do you have any remarks on the investment environment in Quang Ninh province?
As far as I am concerned, Quang Ninh is a high urbanising province and incomes of local people are rising quickly. The locality also carries potentialities for real estate development. There are three factors that make the Quang Ninh investment environment more attractive to investors. Firstly, Quang Ninh lies in the northern key economic where has all industrial, agricultural, fisheries, tourism sectors in addition to its border gate economy. This locality has a very fast economic growth, lies in a dynamic economic zone and has a very attractive real estate market. Secondly, Quang Ninh is also a tourist centre where there are deepwater seaports and international border gates. Thus, the demand for hotels, restaurants, warehouses is very high and strengthens the sustained development of the tourism industry. Finally, the successful building of a coastal urban zone, called Cot 5 - Cot 8, has given a facelift to the real estate market and driven up property prices.
