Vietnam Announces 227 Prestigious Exporters

The Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced 227 prestigious exporters in 2009. These exporters operate in various fields of seafood, rubber, rice, coffee, cashew, vegetables, apparel, wood, mechanics, plastics, building materials, handicrafts, tea, pepper, electric wires and cables.

 

Of the sum, the seafood sector recorded the highest winners of 43, followed by the rubber sector with 33, the rice sector with 26, and the apparel sector with 22.

 

Vietnam fetched $56.584 billion from exported goods last year, down 9.7% from a year earlier and spent $68.83 billion on imports, down 14.7% on-year, the General Statistics Office said. (Liberated Saigon, GSO)
