Korean Ambassador Pledges to Speed up Sluggish Projects in Vietnam
Newly-accredited Korean Ambassador Park Suk-Hwan said he will strive to speed up the implementation of investment projects in Vietnam, particularly the sluggish ones.
The ambassador made the affirmation at his meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on June 15.
PM Dung highly spoke of the new ambassador’s commitment, emphasizing investment projects should be carried out rapidly and efficiently on par with the two countries’ strategic partnership.
South Korean companies have invested US$22.4 billion in Vietnam so far, ranking the second among 89 foreign countries and territories making direct investment in the country.
The host also proposed Park Suk-Hwan to do his best to promote his country’s ODA provision for Vietnam.
Regarding the Cheonan ship incident, PM Dung assured “Vietnam opposes the use of force or the threatening to use force in international relations”.
Hanoi Administration has paid special attention to the investigation results as well as relevant parties’ move, Dung said, noting his government would express strong condemnation if the investigation proved that the ship was attacked.
Ambassador Park also conveyed an invitation from the Korean government to Vietnamese leaders to attend G20 Summit to be held in Seoul in November. (News)
