Foreign Tourists to HCM City Forecast to Increase 12% to 1.5M in H1
International tourists to Ho Chi Minh City are estimated to have increased by 12% from a year earlier to 1.5 million in the first half of 2010, said the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The city is estimated to gain tourism revenues of VND18.5 trillion ($973.68 million) between January and June, said the department.
Of the total figure of visitors, 50% visit the city for entertainment purposes and 20% for business ones.
Ho Chi Minh City aims to welcome 2.8 million foreign visitors and fetch tourism revenues of VND40 trillion ($2.09 billion) in 2010, up 7% and 15% on year, respectively. (New Hanoi)
