Vietnam Southern EZ Proposed to Become into Industrial City

The People’s Committee of the Vietnamese central province of Quang Ngai province is seeking the prime minister’s approval to develop Dung Quat Economic Zone (EZ) into an industrial city by 2025.
 
Under a plan on the EZ expansion submitted to the Ministry of Construction, the total area of Dung Quat EZ will be raised to 45,332 ha by 2025 from the current 10,300 ha.
 
The future city will focus on heavy industrial production such as petrochemistry and chemicals. It will also accommodate deep-water seaports, coastal eco-tourism resorts and urban areas.
 
Dung Quat EZ, which home to Dung Quat and My seaports, has licensed 116 domestic and foreign-invested projects totaling VND150 trillion (US$7.85 billion) so far, with US$4.1 billion disbursed.
