S.Korea to Recruit 12,500 Vietnam Workers This Year
South Korea plans to recruit 12,500 Vietnamese workers this year as its companies are operating better thanks to the global economic recovery, said an official from the Vietnamese Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).
Head of the MoLISA’s Overseas Worker Center Pham Van Minh said over 10,600 Vietnamese laborers have passed South Korean tests and are waiting for the exit.
The center sent 360 laborers to South Korean early July, he said, adding that the figure is expected to sharply rise from now to the year-end.
Vietnam has to date sent more than 65,000 workers to South Korea and targets to bring between 10,000 and 15,000 laborers to this market annually.
The Southeast Asian nation aims to send 85,000 workers abroad in 2010 with a focus on people from 62 local poor districts. (Transport)
