VCCI Helps Confront with US Antidumping
The Trade Remedies Council (TRC) under the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in collaboration with Lawyer William. H. Barringer of Winston&Strawn Law Firm has recently organised a workshop titled “United States tightens antidumping and anti-subsidy rules on non-market economy - impacts on Vietnamese enterprises.”
In late August, the US Department of Commerce proposed a series of measures to support export initiatives by US President Barack Obama. US authorities revised regulations on antidumping and anti-subsidy applied to so-called non-market economies like Vietnam. All changes are aimed at creating more difficulties and advantages for foreign products to facilitate consumption of American products. Hence, if these proposals by the Department of Commerce are adopted, the door to the US market will be narrow to Vietnamese exports
The seminar put forth solutions to curb with new situations.
