Continue to Support Businesses to Apply IT to Serve Integration and Development
On November 30, 2010, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) organised a meeting to collect feedbacks on a plan to carry out the project “Supporting enterprises to apply information technology to serve integration and development in the 2011-2015 period" (briefly called as Project 191, 2011-2015).
Basing on the results achieved in the 2005-2010 period, many companies underlined the importance and necessity of continuing the Project 191 in the 2011-2015 period. VCCI Vice President and General Secretary Pham Gia Tuc also underscored the extreme necessity of continuing the project in 2011 - 2015 period, not only good for the business community but also for tax and customs authorities. However, Mr Tuc recommended that the business community improve the competitiveness by collaborating with government agencies to apply e-government because tax and customs procedures will be carried out electronically.
Mr Le Van Loi, Director of the Institute of Information Technology for Business (ITB) under VCCI, said: The Project 191 in the 2011 - 2015 period will continue activities carried out in the 2005 - 2010 period, address existing shortcomings and supplement new contents to match IT development trends in Vietnam and in the world.
The draft Project 191 in the 2011-2015 period comprises eight components. After collection feedbacks from participants at the meeting, VCCI will continue to collect comments from ministries, branches and localities to supplement and adjust contents of the project which will be then sent to the Prime Minister for approval.
