Regulation on Speciality Associations
Under the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 68/2010/QĐ-TTg dated on November 1, 2010, Vietnam has 28 Speciality Associations nationwide, including the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA), the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organization (VUFO), the Vietnam Union of Literary and Arts, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the Vietnam Writers' Association, the Vietnam Journalist Association, the Vietnam Jurist Association, Vietnam Union of Cooperatives, the Vietnam Red Cross, the Vietnamese Student Union (VSU), The Association of Vietnamese Folklorists (AVF), the Vietnam Musicians’ Association, the Vietnam Cinema Association, the Vietnam Dancers Association, Vietnam Association of Architects, Viet Nam Association of Fine Arts, Vietnam Ethnic Minorities' Literature & Arts Association, Vietnam Association of Photographers, the Vietnam Association of the Elderly, Vietnam Blind People's Association, the Vietnam Association of Traditional Medicine, the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA), Vietnam General Association of Medicine, the Vietnam Association of Former Young Volunteers, Association for Handicap and Orphan of Vietnam (ASVHO), Vietnam Association of Supporting Disabled Children, and the Learning Promotion Association of Vietnam.
Under the decision, VCCI is recognized as a social and employment organisation and an economic enterprise. The defining of speciality is based on: the important role in contributing to the national socioeconomic development, with difficulties in mobilizing financial resources to serve the association’s operations; was appointed personnel and provided with financial supports and operation conditions before the Government’s Decree No. 45 CP 45/2010/NĐ-CP dated on April 21, 2010 takes effect.
