Vietnam Total Investments for Development Projs +17.1% to VND830.3T in 2010

Vietnam’s total investments for development projects is estimated to rise 17.1% from a year earlier to VND830.3 trillion ($42.57 billion) in 2010.
 
The figure accounted for 41.9% of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP), the government’s General Statistic Office said.
 
Of the sum, VND316.3 trillion was sourced from the state sector, up 10% from a year earlier and making up 38.1% of the country’s total investments.
 
Vietnam will need total investments of VND6,340 trillion for economic development projects in 2011-2015 period, up 1.9 folds in comparison with the sum for 2006-2010, the Ministry of Planning and Investment said.
 
Vietnam’s GDP was likely at $44.87 billion by end-June, since Bui Ba Cuong, head of the National Accounts Department under the GSO earlier said. (GSO)
