Investment Quality in Focus

In the past years, Nam Dinh has applied several solutions to improve its investment environment. Investment encouraging policies together administrative reform has increasing attracted local and foreign investments. The efficient investment attraction has promoted economic development. This is the orientation allowing Nam Dinh to successfully implement the development strategy to 2020, ensuring fast and stable economic development, and economic transformation of industry-service-agriculture. As an advisory body for Nam Dinh People’s Committee, the Department of Planning and Investment is working hard on planning, investment promotion activities and administrative reform to improve the investment environment.

 

In spite of numerous difficulties, Nam Dinh focuses on planning and investment in industrial zones. So far, four industrial zones are constructing infrastructure to attract investments; 99 projects including 15 FDI projects have been granted licenses with registered capital of VND9,817 billion and US$95.1 million, renting 3,200,000 sq. metres. The industrial zones have become most attractive to investments.

 

In the past years, Nam Dinh People’s Committee has focused on improving the investment environment and related encouragement policies, upgrading infrastructure and attracting hi-tech and FDI projects. Those efforts have contributed to effectively attracting investments, and have promoted socio-economic development in the province.

 

 Presently, Nam Dinh gives high priority to investment projects with large capital, hi-technology, bio-technology, information technology, infrastructure for industrial zones, new building materials, new energy, supporting industries, education, health, sports, culture and eco-tourism.

 

According to Mr Pham Quoc Khanh, Deputy Director of Nam Dinh Department of Planning and Investment, the increase of investment quality will help Nam Dinh attract a new flow of investments. The investments in the past years remained limited. Nam Dinh needs breakthrough solutions to improve the investment environment.

 

The province will improve the planning of sectors, construction and land use so that investment promotion organizations can call for investments. It will implement the government project of simplifying administrative formalities in state management, especially formalities on investment, land and construction, improving formalities and saving time for businesses.

 

The price list will be reasonable to ensure both State revenue and investment priorities in each area and period, as well as competitiveness in the region. The province will mobilize resources to upgrade infrastructure, improve investment promotion activities and sponsor business meetings with investors.
