ASEAN has become an increasingly attractive destination for foreign direct investment (FDI), said Amar Gill from Lyonnais Security Asia.

Speaking at a recent international investment workshop in Jakarta, Indonesia, he said the FDI inflow into China and India is levelling off. However, it rose three times in ASEAN member countries, particularly Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Amar Gill attributed the trend to quick development of middle class, stable political-economic-socio environment, and currency stability in ASEAN.

“You will see a big growth in dollar millionaires in the next five years. We are looking into the high net-worth individuals doubling,” he said.
