In 2008, Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG) encouraged rubber companies to use rubber materials to produce consumer products in a bid to ease the shipments of natural rubber latex abroad. In this context, Dong Phu Technical Rubber Joint Stock Company (DORUFOAM) made its debut, located in Tan Lap commune in Dong Phu district in the southern province of Binh Phuoc. In 2009 and 2010, the company started its transfer of technology and started trial production. In 2011, the company churned out its first products, contributing to ensure the supply of pillows and mattress in the local market. With sufficient supply of materials, quality products, advanced production assemblies imported from Germany and Malaysia and a young, skilled workforce, the DORUFOAM trademark has stood firm despite fierce competition from domestic and foreign rivals.
DORUFOAM products are manufactured in a closed production assembly, ranging from materials to processing. The company’s materials are sufficient and stable. Notably, Dong Phu mattress products are made from 100 percent natural rubber with stable quality and won the MS679:1999 certificate by LGM – The Malaysian Rubber Board – RRIMCORP. Dong Phu’s products also won the ISO 9001:2008 certificate by Quacert, the environment protection certificate ISO 14001:2004, the health and workplace safety management certificate OHSAS 18001:2007. Besides reasonable prices compared to similar products on the local market, DORUFOAM products have a seven-year warranty and are completely safe for users as the products contain no chemical smell.
Dong Phu Technical Rubber Joint Stock Company produces around 3,000 mattresses a month and 10,000 pillows of different kinds. The company’s products have been present in many foreign markets, including in China, South Korea, Laos and Cambodia. Besides paying attention to improve the quality of products, it has also focused investment in diversifying its products made from natural rubber in order to satisfy the requirements of customers.

Talking about development plans in the future, Mr. Thanh said that DORUFOAM currently focuses on its strong points of sufficient materials, advanced closed production assembly and product quality to win the confidence of customers, thus improving its competitiveness in the local market. In order to improve its capacity to develop the trademark in both local and foreign markets, the company has planned to launch programs to promote its products on mass media and to attend many exhibitions in cities and provinces nationwide, as well as national events. Besides, the company plans to expand its distribution network and set up more representative offices in some cities and provinces in a bid to gain a bigger market share and stand firm amid fierce competition. However, in the long-term development strategy, DORUFOAM will still focus on raising the quality of products, diversifying products, expanding the market, and consolidating and developing the trademark with an aim to become a strong brand in the international market.
