NOKIA Inaugurates Phone Plant in Vietnam

Nokia, the world leader in mobile communications, announced to officially inaugurate its first phone production factory in the Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) in northern Bac Ninh province. The event marked an important milestone in the development history of Nokia in Vietnam as the new facility will place Vietnam on the world map of phone production.

 

Nokia’s new facility in Vietnam will help increase the supply for domestic and regional markets.

 

In addition to the core function of phone manufacturing, the Nokia facility will train and develop employees to lay the standards for sustainable development and citizenship responsibility. Administered by Nokia Vietnam Ltd, the factory introduces advanced technologies and environment- friendly behaviours by means of using solar energy, water-saving devices, recycling systems, waste treatment systems, sustainable transportation, and energy-saving working environment. The firm also enhances workplace healthcare and encourages employees to take part in community programmes for ill-fated childcare, education and environmental protection.
