Vedan Vietnam Enterprise Corporation., Ltd (Vedan Vietnam) was established on August 1, 1991 according to the Investment Licence granted by the State Committee for Cooperation and Investment, with the initial investment capital of US$183 million. Headquartered in Phuoc Thai commune, Long Thanh district, Dong Nai province, apart from its top priority for product quality, the company always highly regards community development activities.
Vedan Vietnam increases its capital every year. At present, the company's total investment in the country has exceeded US$500 million, with offices and factories located in many provinces and cities across the country, including Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Binh Phuoc and Ha Tinh. Vedan Vietnam primarily utilises agricultural products in Vietnam as input materials and employs advanced biotechnology to process them into high-grade products and highly valued biotech products. The company's products include monosodium glutamate (MSG), granules, starch, modified starch (there are now about 20 different types of starch derivatives used in food processing, textile industry, paper industry and other industries), malt, glutamic acid, lysine, hydrochloric acid, caustic soda, detergent, Vedagro organic fertiliser, and Vedafeed animal feed. Particularly, the company's new product is γ-PGA, called gamma-polyglutamic acid (an advanced biotech product widely used in cosmetics, food processing, pharmaceutical, water treatment, agricultural production and seafood processing). All products are manufactured according to international standards like ISO 9001, HACCP, OHSAS 2008, ISO 14001, ISO/IEC 17025 and FSSC 22000.
 
Together with ensuring product quality, the company also recruits many employees excellent at agriculture to guide techniques to grow cassava and fertilise crops for the highest productivity. The company continues to invest in cassava development in border areas to increase input supplies for its starch processing plants across the country like Binh Phuoc and Ha Tinh provinces, support farmers to increase incomes, and create jobs for local farmers.
 
For years, Vedan Vietnam has actively taken part in charity works. In the past four years, the company has funded the construction of more than 100 charity houses in Long Thanh and Nhon Trach districts, Dong Nai province, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, Ho Chi Minh City, Long An province, Can Tho City; raised money for flood victims in central and northern Vietnam; handed over money to families of fallen soldiers, heroic Vietnamese mothers; actively donated to funds for the poor; and taken care of the poor and the blind on the occasion of special public holidays. Particularly, when the new school year opens, Vedan Vietnam collaborates with the Long Thanh District Education Department, study encouragement funds and schools to grant scholarships to hundreds of students in Phuoc Thai, Phuoc Binh and Cam Duong communes in Long Thanh district, in Xuan Bac commune, Xuan Loc district in Dong Nai province, and in My Xuan and Phu My communes, Tan Thanh district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
