Chevron, Partners Extend Support to Education Programme 2014
Chevron Vietnam Ltd., PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation Ltd. (PVEP), Mitsui Oil Exploration Co., Ltd. (MOECO), and PTT Exploration and Production Plc. (PTTEP) together with the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC), on June 2, announced an extension to the programme supporting school upgrades and scholarships for more than 800 schoolchildren in the Mekong Delta region in 2014.
The US$150,000 commitment builds on the existing Block B Gas-to-Power Project education programme that has already provided scholarships to more than 3,800 children in the Mekong Delta since 2009. Chevron Vietnam Ltd., PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation Ltd. (PVEP), Mitsui Oil Exploration Co., Ltd. (MOECO), and PTT Exploration and Production Plc. (PTTEP), have also supported the work to upgrade 19 schools in the past four years.
In addition to the scholarships, the 2014 programme will include work to upgrade five additional schools in Can Tho, Ca Mau, Kien Giang, Bac Lieu and Hau Giang.
