ACE LIFE Scoops Two Prestigious Sustainability and Ethics Awards
ACE Life, the global life insurance division of ACE Group, on June 30 announced that it was awarded the “Sustainable Development Enterprises” certification and Lam Hai Tuan, Chairman and Country President of ACE Life in Vietnam, was honored with the “Global Ethics in Business Ambassador” award by the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Associations (WFUCA) in Hanoi, Vietnam.
ACE Life was the only life insurance company in Vietnam awarded with both corporate and individual awards at this event. The award ceremony was part of the International Conference “Global Ethics Education for Sustainable Development” organized by the Vietnam Federation of UNESCO Associations (VFUA).
“The winning of the awards is a testimony to ACE Life’s nine years of effective and ethical operations by adhering to Vietnam’s laws and policies, respecting human rights and giving back to the community,” said Lam Hai Tuan. “Achieving a billion-dollar business in the first seven years with more than 10,000 staff and agents, ACE Life is also committed to giving back to the community by founding the Crossing Wave Fund. We have donated 13 billion VND to this charity fund to support education programs, such as school buildings, student scholarships. Apart from providing excellent service to our customers, this is how ACE Life gains trust and recognition in the country”, Lam Hai Tuan added.
The individual award “Global Ethics in Business Ambassador” was selected based on the strict criteria to reward excellent leaders who have not only led an organization to business success but have implemented social responsibility, and respected and protected human rights, as well as business ethics.
To acknowledge the Global Ethics Day and improve ethics awareness in culture, education and business, the International Conference was held from 27 to 30 June 2014 in Hanoi and Ha Long, Quang Ninh province by the VFUA but also the WFUCA. Besides government officers, organizations and members, the conference welcomed around 150 international visitors from 40 countries. One of the most important activities at this conference was recognition of the “Sustainable Development Enterprises” certification to businesses and “Global Ethics in Business Ambassador” award to outstanding leaders.
