Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet, Chairwoman of Song May Industrial Park Development Joint Stock Company (SINPACO) and Director of Vietnam Pink Lotus Charity Fund, is called a woman of modern Vietnam by her employees and the business circle in Dong Nai province, as she has confronted and overcome numerous challenging works usually done by men: Investing and developing the infrastructure system for industrial parks, residential zones, commercial centres and markets. With her business successes, she is considered a model for modern Vietnamese women: Not only being successful in society but also fulfilling family duties.
Set up in 1998 by SINPACO, Song May Industrial Park has a total area of 474 ha (250 ha in the first phase and 224 ha in the second phase) in Trang Bom and Vinh Cuu districts, Dong Nai province. This is a multi-sector industrial zone in the southern key economic zone.
With favourable traffic connections, Song May Industrial Park, 35 km from Ho Chi Minh City, 15 km from Bien Hoa City and 40 km from the planned Long Thanh International Airport, is exerting a very strong pull on investors. Situated on National Road 1A, tenants will have rapid, low cost transport connections for export and import products. The distance from the industrial park to such ports as Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Phu My, Thi Vai, Go Dau and Cai Mep is relatively near.
Song May Industrial Park has a complete infrastructure system, featuring a 2-4 lane trunk road system of 22-35 metres wide and branch roads of 15-22 metres wide; a full illuminating system; telecom system, electricity system and water system (supplying 10,000 cubic metres a day, treating 2,000 cubic metres of wastewater a day), banking and customs system and security services to ensure highest benefits for investors. The water supply and environmental remediation systems meet strict regulations and standards imposed by authorities.
With its prime location, well-developed infrastructure and professional support network, Song May Industrial Park can house many investment projects of different industries like garment, footwear, LPG, mechanical manufacturing, agro-processing and food.
To draw investment capital in the midst of economic downturn when investment flows declined, she introduced advantages and attractive incentives for new tenants like complete infrastructure, good geological structure and rent payment delay. Hence, investment attraction in Song May Industrial Park was very positive. To date, the industrial park has 54 tenants leasing approximately 146.5 ha of land, or 82.25 percent of rentable area in the first phase. In 2015, SINPACO will coordinate with the Land Development Centres of Trang Bom and Vinh Cuu districts to check the status of 224 ha of land used in the second phase of development to prepare for land compensation, site clearance and infrastructure development investment. Also this year, the company will lease an additional 10 ha to tenants.
SINPACO also invested in Song May Market in Bac Son commune, Trang Bom district, Dong Nai province. As of the end of 2014, the market had 255 out of 353 kiosks leased, or 72.23 percent of the total. In 2015, the company plans to develop a 15-ha housing project for workers in Bac Son district.
In spite of being busy with business affairs, she still has time for community activities. She has joined many charity programmes in Dong Nai province and other localities in the past year. She has donated a lot to help the poor, the childless elderly and the blind, to build houses for the community, to fund the construction of a bridge in Ben Tre province and another one in Dong Nai province, and to grant scholarships for poor students with outstanding study records. Recently, she was named the director of Dong Nai Division of the Vietnam Pink Lotus Charity Fund. This is considered a key source of vitality for the poor and the elderly in Dong Nai province who are in need of community support.
