PM Meets Japan - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance Special Advisor
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung hosted a reception for special advisor to the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, Tsutomu Takebe, at the Governmental Office in Hanoi on February 23 during his official working visit to Vietnam.
PM Dung warmly welcomed the visit of Mr Tsutomu Takebe, a close friend of Vietnamese people and praised his contributions to the fine bilateral ties, particularly the Vietnam - Japan University Project – a symbol of two-side cooperation.
He was pleased at the developments in the Vietnam - Japan Extensive Strategic Partnership in all fields. PM Dung also conveyed the invitation to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan and his wife to visit Vietnam in 2016.
Regarding the Vietnam - Japan University Project, PM Dung affirmed that Vietnam is willing to cooperate with Japan to put the university into operation early. The university will be inaugurated on September 9, 2016. He also recommended Tsutomu Takebe to make more efforts in agricultural development and overseas study.
Tsutomu Takebe said Japan is actively preparing for the organisation of the Japan - Vietnam Cultural Festival in November, plans to bring a delegation of over 1,000 Japanese enterprises to Vietnam, and continue the idea on cherry blossom planting in Vietnam.
