Three-Month Implementation of “Mizuiku - I love clean water 2016” Reviewed
On July 28, Suntory Group and Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage, in coordination with Tuong Lai Centre for Health Education and Community Development (Tuong lai Centre), organised “Seminar on idea contribution to water conservation and preservation teaching methods” after the first three months of implementation of “Mizuiku - I love clean water 2016” in order to recap project initial deliverables and replicate its initiatives as well as invaluable experiences in water education to Ho Chi Minh City’s primary schools.
In 2016, the hands-on water education project of Mizuiku has organised over 270 teaching classes with the participation of more than 3,300 elementary pupils in both the north and the south of Vietnam so far. Notably, in the South, Mizuiku reached an additional number of more than 1,300 children with games and interactive activities via SPVB’s sponsorship in CSR activities such as Recycle Day and Children’s Healthcare Festival.

Appraising project deliverables, Mr Takenobu Shiina, Senior General Manager, Planning Department, Corporate Communication Division of Suntory Holdings Limited, Suntory noted: “The number of teaching classes is far more than double that of 2015. Notably, the size of each class is dramatically narrowed to help pupils gain more hands-on experiences and intensively interacting with teachers. The fact that project teaching method inspires participating teachers to creatively develop their own syllabus and highly interactive activities for pupils makes us really optimistic about its outcomes in the next six months.”
Originating from Japan, Mizuiku is a meaningful programme that brings sustainable benefits to the society, especially to Vietnam’s youth funded by Suntory Holdings Limited (SHD) Japan and implemented by Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage (SPVB) in coordination with stakeholders.
