Opening Doors to the World

KinderWorld Education Group announced the grand opening of phase one of the Pegasus Mixed Education Development in the central city of Danang in May 2015. The event marked the official opening of Pegasus International College and Singapore International School on 1.8 hectares in Phu My An new urban area of Danang City.

 

Pegasus International College (PIC) if the first international college in Danang offering high quality courses in hospitality, tourism, culinary arts and business and commerce to meet the ever increasing demand for skilled labour in the hospitality industry. Students are able to pursue qualifications in accordance with national, ASEAN or international standards. The college offers a three-tiered qualification in Hospitality & Tourism and Business which is aligned to Vietnam Tourism Occupational Standards (VTOS), Common ASEAN Tourism Curriculum (CATC) and the Australia Qualifications Framework (AQF).

 

As mandated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, all 4-5 star hotels are required to ensure that at least 70 per cent of their service staff and 100 per cent of management staff are certified under VTOS or Vocational College and/or have higher education qualifications in Hospitality and Tourism. As the ASEAN Economic Community was formed at the end of 2015, the Common ASEAN Tourism Curriculum will be the regionally recognized curriculum in Hospitality and Tourism. Students will then have the opportunity to seek employment in the industry in other ASEAN countries through the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (MRA-TP).

 

Through an agreement between Pegasus International College and its international academic partners (Edinburgh Napier University in the United Kingdom and Northern Sydney Institute in Australia), Pegasus students can articulate into and obtain internationally recognized Bachelor Degree within a total of 3 to 3.5 years.

 

To complete KinderWorld through-train educational pathways from kindergarten to university levels, the Group aims to set up Pegasus International University in Danang, Nha Trang and Can Tho, offering international bachelor degrees in hospitality and business within Vietnam. In June 2016, Danang People’s Committee sent their official letter to Government Office and Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) showing their support regarding the proposal to upgrade the current college in Danang to Pegasus International University.
