Vietnam to Sign US$820Mln Agriculture Projects This Year

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) is planning to sign 38 projects worth around US$820 million with foreign partners this year.

Of the total capital, around US$686 million will come from loans and US$133 million from non-refundable aid. The ministry will also cooperate further with the international organisations such as IMF, WB and FAO to secure more assistance for the country’s backward agricultural sector.

In 2004, MARD signed 31 projects with total official development assistance (ODA) capital of US$405 million.
