To proactively and promptly deal with the congestion of exported agricultural products in northern border provinces, the General Department of Vietnam Customs directed customs authorities of Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Cao Bang, Lao Cai, Ha Giang and Dien Bien to implement solutions to facilitate the export of agricultural products.
Specifically, local customs authorities facilitate and immediately carry out customs clearance for exported agricultural products across border gates; and immediately solve problems arising in the course of carrying out export customs procedures.
The General Department of Customs directed local customs authorities to arrange officers to carry out customs clearance procedures and supervise exported agricultural products across border gates outside office hours, at weekends and on public holidays. They need to give priority to vehicles that have completed customs clearance procedures to pass through border gates soon. They need to coordinate with warehouse and yard operators in border gate areas to arrange locations and facilitate the preservation and quality classification of goods of enterprises waiting for export.
At the same time, they join hands with the Border Guard and the Police to regulate traffic for incoming and outgoing vehicles to avoid congestion, ensure security and order, and prevent instability that may affect the operations of exporters. The General Department also directed local customs agencies to strictly handle troublemaking cases against businesses.
Previously, on May 31, 2023, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Official Letter 492/CD-TTg on the active implementation of urgent measures to reduce congestion and promote agricultural exports in northern border gates.
