During the official visit to Vietnam by Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and Thailand’s Central Group signed a cooperation program for the 2026-2028 period to boost the consumption of Vietnamese goods domestically and internationally.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by Mr. Tran Huu Linh - Director of the Agency for Domestic Market Surveillance and Domestic Market Department, Mr. Ta Hoang Linh - Director of the International Market Development Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade - MoIT), and representatives of Central Group. Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra witnessed the MoU exchange ceremony.
This program is the fruition of close coordination between the two sides, aiming to promote Vietnamese goods and enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese companies, particularly those engaged in consumer products, agricultural produce and seafood.
Under the agreement, Central Group and MoIT will co-host annual trade events, including ‘Vietnamese Goods Week’ in Thailand, support Vietnamese businesses in meeting product standards, develop agricultural projects, promote local specialties, and enhance retail workforce training.
Notably, Central Group will scale up community livelihood models and support the consumption of products made by ethnic minorities and people in mountainous regions of Vietnam.
MoIT affirmed that it will closely coordinate with Central Group in carrying out the cooperation program, assist in connecting localities and businesses, disseminate information, and share trade infrastructure data. The two sides are committed to maintaining regular dialogues and address obstacles to effectively realize the cooperation program.
