Amid the vibrant momentum of the 14th National Party Congress, the successful first-term Party Congress of Hai Phong City, and the arrival of 2026, Vicem Hai Phong Cement Joint Stock Company has entered a pivotal phase of development. Drawing on more than a century of history, the company has continued to restructure its governance, advance green and digital transformation, enhance competitiveness, reinforce its role as a key industrial enterprise, and align its operations with the city’s sustainable development objectives.

Vicem Hai Phong is equipped with modern and environmentally friendly technology
Entering the 2025-2030 period, Vicem Hai Phong has identified this as a transitional phase to prepare for a new growth cycle. The company has aligned closely with the orientations of Vietnam National Cement Corporation (Vicem) and the national construction materials master plan, focusing on organizational restructuring, improving management efficiency, and enhancing human resource quality, toward a modern, flexible, and sustainable industrial business model.
A particularly important milestone in Vicem Hai Phong’s development journey was the 20th anniversary of the first clinker output of the new Hai Phong Cement Plant at the end of 2025. This event marked a historic transition from the old plant along the Cam River, long associated with the proud tradition of the Vietnamese working class, to the new facility in Trang Kenh, Thuy Nguyen, equipped with modern and environmentally friendly technology. This shift was not only a change in production location, but also a turning point in development thinking, opening a new era of green, efficient, and integrated production.
After two decades of operation, Vicem Hai Phong has fully mastered its modern production lines, continuously refining techniques and driving innovation. Upgrades to the preheater tower, along with an increase in kiln capacity from 3,300 to 4,000 tons of clinker per day, have boosted productivity, reduced energy consumption, and enhanced control over dust and gas emissions. These improvements have allowed the company to increase economic efficiency while meeting increasingly stringent environmental standards.
In the market, the brand Con Rong - Dragon, a symbol of Vicem Hai Phong for over a century, has continued to solidify its reputation by contributing to the construction of major national and Hai Phong city landmark projects, including Cat Bi International Airport, Lach Huyen International Gateway Port, Tan Vu-Lach Huyen Bridge, Bach Dang Bridge, Hoang Van Thu Bridge, and key expressway routes. Beyond maintaining a strong domestic presence, Vicem Hai Phong has expanded exports to Asian and Latin American markets, gradually enhancing its position internationally.
Production and business results provide clear evidence of the company’s strategic direction. From 2005 to the present, Vicem Hai Phong has produced over 22.6 million tons of clinker, sold nearly 38.8 million tons of products, generated revenue exceeding VND36,700 billion, and contributed more than VND1,200 billion to the state budget. Notably, the company has fully repaid both principal and interest on investment loans for the new plant, establishing a solid financial foundation for the next phase of development.
Alongside economic growth, Vicem Hai Phong has positioned green and digital transformation as strategic priorities. The plant operates advanced dry-process rotary kiln technology from FLSmidth (Denmark), implements a quality management system certified to ISO 9001:2015, and maintains a laboratory accredited under ISO 17025. The integration of automated quality control systems, digitalized production data, and ERP solutions has enhanced operational efficiency, increased transparency, and strengthened cost management.

Vicem Hai Phong improves economic efficiency while meeting increasingly stringent environmental standards
Notably, a 5 MW waste heat recovery power generation project, scheduled to begin operation in 2026, is expected to enable Vicem Hai Phong to reduce approximately 25% of its electricity purchases from the grid, equivalent to nearly 22,000 tons of CO₂ annually. This initiative represents a significant step in the company’s commitment to emission reduction, participation in the carbon credit market, and advancement of a circular economy.
In addition, Vicem Hai Phong consistently prioritizes social responsibility. The company provides stable employment for over 700 workers, with an average monthly income of nearly VND19 million per person, among the highest in Hai Phong City. Annually, the company allocates billions of dong to social welfare programs, recognition of contributors, new rural development, and community support, thereby promoting social values and reinforcing public trust.
With renewed momentum from Party Congresses at all levels and growing confidence as 2026 begins, Vicem Hai Phong continues to demonstrate its commitment to governance renewal, technological investment, product quality improvement, and environmental stewardship. Building on more than a century of tradition and guided by a vision for green and modern development, Vicem Hai Phong is poised to accelerate its growth, making a meaningful contribution to Hai Phong’s transformation into a green, advanced, and modern port city in this new phase of development.
