VCCI, MOST Coordinate Preparations for APEC 2027 Events

As preparations for the APEC 2027 events in Phu Quoc move forward urgently, Nguyen Quang Vinh, Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), met with Hoang Minh, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology (MOST).

The meeting focused on plans to coordinate the organization of key events, with an emphasis on mobilizing major companies to participate in forums bringing together leaders of leading regional and international corporations.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh stressed that technology events, particularly the Innovation Summit, should lead efforts to promote the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced technological solutions in economic development. He proposed that leading technology companies should be the main exhibitors to showcase Vietnam’s digital transformation capabilities. MOST will also work closely with VCCI to ensure that discussion sessions offer strong technical expertise and closely link digital transformation with security and global logistics supply chains.

For VCCI, Vice President Nguyen Quang Vinh affirmed that APEC 2027 offers a major opportunity to showcase Vietnam’s capabilities, initiatives, and entrepreneurial spirit in innovation on the international stage. VCCI will strengthen its role in mobilizing participation from major domestic companies and multinational corporations operating in Vietnam.

Building on their shared direction, the two agencies drew lessons from previous APEC meetings and major international conferences to develop effective organizational plans. In terms of format, rather than expanding activities too broadly, trade promotion areas and company exhibition spaces at the exhibition and the APEC CEO Summit will be streamlined, focusing on selected representative brands to showcase modern, high-quality technological solutions.

Regarding the agenda, the duration of plenary sessions, thematic sessions, and CEO roundtables will be adjusted to optimize scheduling and provide participants with substantive information. In terms of operations, the two sides agreed to establish dedicated working groups to maintain regular information exchange and coordinate the refinement of organizational plans. Close coordination and a shared commitment between VCCI and MOST are expected to make APEC 2027 a memorable event.
