Thoi Son Islet: A FutureTouristCenter

Thoi Son islet with 12.12 sq. kilometres in area, 1,413 households, green orchards, healthy environment, peaceful canals and traditional crafts, is most promising for tourism development. According to the plan, the tourist centre will be built in 77.5 hectares with investment capital of VND393.5 billion and seven special areas:
 
-         Camping site of 16.3 hectares will be built with several games for students and young people.
-         Water sport area of 7.4 hectares will be built on Eastern side of the islet with large surface for water skiing, swimming and boat tour.
-         Indoor sports ( table tennis, badminton), swimming pool, floating stage, health spa, steam bath and massage will be built in the area.
-         18.2 hectares will be developed into a biosphere garden with flowers beds, lotus ponds, four-season orchards, exhibition of mammals and insects of the region as well as traditional music performance.
-         Craft village will be built on 9.9 hectares producing traditional products such as coconut candies, pancake, processed rice.
-         Native village will be developed on an area of 12 hectares with rice-fields, canals and visitors can try their lucks in fishing and rowing boats.
-         A resort will be built on 10.8 hectares in peaceful and healthy environment with sports area, houses and conference room for MICE.
 
Phase 1 (2006-2007) will start with the building of roads worth some VND22.5 billion. Phase 2 (2007-2008) will build the camping site (VND52 billion), water sports area (VND22 billion) and native village (VND92 billion. Phase 3 (2008-2010) will develop bio-sphere garden (VND62.5 billion) and resort (VND99.5 billion). Part of the investment capital will be by the State budget, the remaining will be investments by other economic sectors,
 
Thoi Son tourist centre with typical tourist products will be attractive to tourists. Tien Giang province calls on the cooperation of investors to develop Tien Giang tourism and promote socio-economic development of the region.
