Some Famous Tourist Sites in BenTreProvince

Phung Islet is located in the middle of the Tien river in Tan Thach commune, Chau Thanh district, 12 kilometres from Ben Tre town. The islet, formed by sediment, has an area of 52 hectares with beautiful fruit gardens and a healthy atmosphere. Also, the islet is famous for the Dao Dua architectural complex and a craft village which makes products from coconuts.
 
Oc Islet is in Hung Phong commune, Giong Tom district, with a length of 8.3 kilometres in the Ham Luong river, 10 kilometres east of Ben Tre town. The islet is famous for coconut and fruit gardens. Visiting the islet, tourists will feel separated from the noisy and busy world to enjoy a healthy, cool and clean atmosphere.
 
Tien Islet has an area of seven hectares in Tien Long commune, Chau Thanh district, with long sand banks. On May 5 of the lunar calendar, tens of thousands of people go to the islet to enjoy fruit and entertain.
 
Vam Ho Bird Sanctuary, with an area of 67 hectares, is in Tan My commune, Ba Tri district, 25 kilometres from Ben Tre town. The site still keeps a specific mangrove ecosystem. The Vam Ho eco-tourist site now has restaurants, hotels, guesthouses, camping site and picnic areas.
 
Eight-commune tourist area in Chau Thanh district consists of landscapes of Vietnamese village amid fruit gardens. Apart from historical and cultural relic sites, the area is famous for its fruit, coconut handicrafts and amateur song performances.
 
Cho Lach flower village; apart from famous fruit, Ben Tre is also famous for the farming of seedlings, flowers and bonsais, mainly in the communes of Vinh Thanh, Vinh Hoa, Phu Son and Long Thoi. The area supplies seedlings for localities nationwide.
The girdle cake and glutinous rice chupatty making villages of My Long and Son Doc in Giong Tom district are famous not only in Ben Tre, but also in the south.   
Coconut craft villages are in Phung Islet, Chau Thanh district, and Hung Phong commune, Giong Tom district.As Ben Tre is the ‘kingdom’ of coconuts, local people use coconut materials to make specific products.
 
At the same time, Ben Tre has many other historical relic sites including the tomb of patriotic teacher and poet Nguyen Dinh Chieu, the Dong Khoi relic site and the Phu Le communal house; and many other cultural works, including the temple of general and vice president Nguyen Thi Dinh, the Ben Tre museum, and the Dong Khoi statue. At the same time, Ben Tre is rich in intangible culture with folk and traditional festivals
