EVN Telecom to Go Public in 2008
EVN Telecom, an arm of the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), will go public in 2008, local media said, quoting an EVN source.
EVN said in its decision, signed on February 23, that EVN Telecom will be transformed into a one-member limited liability company in 2007 before being equitized in 2008.
EVN Telecom itself will go public and sell stakes in its five subsidiaries; namely, EVN Telecom Consulting, EVN Telecom Internet, EVN Telecom Mobile, EVN Telecom Telephone and EVN Telecom Transmission.
In 2007, EVN Telecom targets to attract two million mobile phone subscribers, 200,000 broadband internet subscribers and 70,000 wireless telephone subscribers and monthly provide 25 million minutes of VoIP and ID call services.
EVN Telecom, which is using the CDMA technology, hopes to attain total revenues of over VND3,000 billion in the year.
In 2006, EVN Telecom earned nearly VND900 billion revenues and served more than 650,000 clients.
EVN Telecom said, to realize the target, it has upgraded its transmission capacity to 90 Gbs, put into operation 738 base transceiver stations (BTS) in the first quarter and will expand its service coverage to all provinces nationwide. (Capital Security)
