Vietnam’s zinc oxide exports to the European Union (EU) market are no longer subject to anti-dumping measures, from March 6, 2007, announced the Competitiveness Management Department under the Vietnamese Ministry of Trade.

The announcement followed a decision by the European Commission (EC) to remove anti-dumping duties on zinc oxide imports from Vietnam and China.

On March 18, 2003, the EC imposed 28 per cent anti-dumping tariffs on Vietnam-sourced zinc oxide with purity of no less than 93 per cent, to the EU market in order to prevent Chinese zinc oxide exports to the bloc via Vietnam.

Earlier, on March 5, 2002, the commission decided to adopt punitive duty on China-sourced zinc oxide imports. (Vietnam & World Economy)
