Agribank Picks FPT as Equitisation Consultant

The Corporation for Financing and Promoting Technology (FPT) and the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) on March 27 signed an agreement under which FPT will become a strategic technological partner and an equitisation consultant for Agribank.

Under a plan, Agribank will sell stakes in several units in 2007, and the mother bank in 2008. Under the deal, FPT will exchange experience and services, provided by financial institutions joining FPT, with Agribank. FPT will help Agribank computerize its banking systems and services with technology information and telecoms, deploying solutions maintaining and upgrading the bank’s information systems.

FPT and Agribank also have bilateral agreements on training under which the two sides will exchange experience, information and management skills among leaders and staff.
