64 Foreign Banks Gather in Vietnam

The 30^th annual conference of the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP) took place in Hanoi from May 9-12, 2007.

This is the first time ADFIAP organised its meeting in Vietnam with the attendance of more than 100 delegates being CEOs ad leaders of 64 member banks from 32 countries and territories. In addition to its members, this year meeting had the participation of the research institutes, financial companies and associations in Asia and America, World Bank (WB), Asian Development Bank (ADB) and International Monetary Fund (IMF).

This year’s meeting themed “Development Financing Institutions: Measuring up to International Standards and Best Practices” was hosted by the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV). Attendants focused on discussing administration practices, risk management, international accounting statistics, investment principles, environment, SME development, etc.
