Vietnam Shows Traditional Dish at ASEAN Foods & Drinks Fair

Vietnamese traditional dish “Pho bo” (beef noodle) has been introduced at the ASEAN Gastronomy Festival in Singapore which lasts until the end of July.
 
Besides “Pho bo”, other Vietnamese traditional dishes are also served at the festival.
 
The festival, as part of the 40th ASEAN founding anniversary celebrations, introduces the most unique dishes from 10 member nations.
 
“This is a chance for countries’ tourism sectors to advertise themselves and to learn tourism development experience from regional country,” the organizing board said, adding that more such activities will be regularly held in the upcoming time
 
ASEAN comprises Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
 
ASEAN bloc is now the third largest tourism market of Vietnam after China and Japan.
 
From 1999-2006, the number of inbound tourists from ASEAN countries to Vietnam tripled, from 167,300 to 573,790. (Thanh Nien Daily)
