Taiwanese-owned Casino Operator Lists Shares on Vietnam's Bourse

Royal International Joint Stock Company (RIC) carried out its first trading session at Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE) on July 31, becoming the 111th corporate stock on the exchange.
 
RIC shares debuted at VND174,000, compared with the scheduled price of VND183,000. Total 29,170 shares were successfully traded in the session.
 
RIC listed total 8.58 million shares on the bourse, equal to its 24 per cent of the company’s registered capital.
 
The company, which runs the Vietnam’s biggest casino in Halong Bay, has a registered capital of VND353.7 billion (US$22.1 million), which was 63 per cent owned by Taiwanese investors.
 
The Quang Ninh-based firm reaped in profit of US$4.5 million in the first six months of this year, doubling that last year. It expects to net VND84.58 billion (US$5.3 million) in profit this year and VND120.7 billion in 2008, from VND49.2 billion last year.
