ANZ Finishes Purchase of 8Mln Shares into SSI

Australia & New Zealand Banking Group Ltd (ANZ) has accomplished the acquisition of 8 million shares, or 10 per cent stake, into Saigon Securities Inc (SSI) for US$88 million.
 
Under the agreement signed between two sides, ANZ will nominate a representative to SSI’s management board.
 
SSI looks forward to further developing relationship with ANZ and leveraging their international expertise to take full advantage of the opportunities presented by economic growth in Vietnam, SSI chairman Nguyen Duy Hung said in earlier statement.
 
SSI, Vietnam’s biggest securities company, has got approval to list all 80 million shares on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE), including the shares sold to ANZ.
 
Staying in Hanoi Securities Trading Center now, SSI closed at VND163,500 a share on Wednesday, compared to VND162,300 Tuesday.
 
SSI earned net profit of VND203.9 billion in the second quarter, bringing its total profit in the first six months of this year to VND668.5 billion. It looks to obtain the full-year profit of VND800 billion. (HSE)
