APEC Securities to Raise Capital by Five Folds to US$18.75Mln
The Asia-Pacific Securities Joint Stock Company (APEC securities) will increase its capital to VND300 billion (US$18.75 million) from current VND60 billion by late this year, said vice general director Trinh Hoang Ha.
APEC Securities also plans to open around 20 more branches in Dak Lak, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Can Tho and other localities in the coming time.
The Hanoi-headquartered company has recently opened brokerage agencies in seven cities, including Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Haiphong and Viet Tri to provide customers financial consulting, depositing and underwriting services.
Among these, the two in Ho Chi Minh City and Hue are expected to be licensed for operations this month. Investors who open accounts at the two agencies in September and October will be offered a fees level of 0.05 per cent.
Currently, over 50 other companies are awaiting licenses from the SSC to set up the securities companies since the beginning of this year, the Securities Investment online said.
Vietnam had licensed 41 securities companies by the end of 2006, a sharp increase from the number of only 14 companies in six years ago.
With this fact, there is likely a boom of securities brokers as it did in 2006, SSC said. (Laborer)
