Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) under the Japan-based Hitachi Ltd., the world leader in high-end scalable storage networking solutions, is planning to pour more investment in Vietnam in the upcoming time, state media said.
Vietnam is a potential market where the demand for database and data security services, especially in such industries as banking and finance, insurance, IT, telecommunication, petroleum and manufacturing is increasing day by day, said Ravi Rajendran, HDS General Manager for Asia.
Like other countries in the region, small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam are struggling to manage data growth and storage costs. Storage management is now considered a strategic exercise that will better align IT with the businesses and will result in significant cost efficiencies and yield a higher return on investment, Ravi Rajendran, adding that HDS technology and services would satisfy demands of the local businesses.
“At present, we are approaching the market through the authorized distributor Mircotec. With our advantages, we believe that HDS would become the biggest high-end scalable storage networking solution supplier in Vietnam in the near future,” Ravi Rajendran noted.
With approximately 3,400 employees, Hitachi Data Systems conducts business through direct and indirect channels in the public, government and private sectors in over 170 countries and regions. Its customers include more than 50 percent of Fortune 100 companies.
Its Hitachi, Ltd., (NYSE: HIT / TSE: 6501), headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, is a leading global electronics company with approximately 356,000 employees worldwide. Fiscal 2005 (ended March 31, 2006) its consolidated sales totaled 9,464 billion yen (US$80.9 billion). (Vietnam Economic Times)
